Biography[]

When Chloe was a child, she knew that her father wasn't there for her, thus; her resentment towards him got amplified over the years, and is hinted to having a high body count completely ignoring everything her father said about using her powers for good, choosing instead to use her powers to live a life of luxury.

Throughout the series[]

Season 1[]

By Dawn's Early Light[]

In a park somewhere, some children are playing a game of heroes and villains. Eventually, one of the kids, a girl, takes the game too far, as Chloe attacks her friend with her sonic scream. Shortly after, their superhero father flies down and warns Chloe about using her powers. He then proceeds to remind her of their responsibilities as super powered individuals, Brandon assures his father he won’t use his powers, while Chloe is dismissive of what her father told him. At first, he promises to take his kids for some ice cream, but is quickly forced to cut his time with kids short, when he hears there’s trouble afoot somewhere in the city. Chloe is downbeat because she was about to spend time with her father.

In the present day, Sheldon, Walter, Grace, and Brandon begin their evening dinner. A drunk Chloe storms through the door as her father, Sheldon, says grace. There's a clear tension between Chloe and her father. Especially when Chloe talks about her latest photoshoot in a magazine. Sheldon disapproves of the attention she brings herself and states that Brandon tries to use his gift to better the world. The conversation inevitably turns into an argument, and Chloe states how much she regrets having Sheldon as her father. Her mother, Grace, demands that she apologize. Chloe does apologize, but it is not a genuine apology, as she coldly states that this will be the last dinner she will be coming to before storming out.

Brandon tries to speak to his sister, Chloe to try and reason with her, mentioning how someone else has to be the next Utopian. Chloe argues that they needed their father when they were younger and she is "sorry" that Brandon has to pick up 120 years of their dad's bullshit.

Paper and Stone[]

Sheldon visits his daughter, Chloe in her apartment. He asks her if she's coming to the funeral for those who died against the cloned Blackstar as Brandon is struggling and needs support. Chloe tells her father to give his son time, since he was close with Barry Bishop/Tectonic. The discussion turns into an argument quickly and Chloe tells her father, Sheldon that he cannot stop attacking his children. All she wants to do is fight him. Sheldon states he is not trying to attack her and that he wants solutions because he is tired of her pointing fingers.

Later at the funeral, Sheldon is mad at the fact that Chloe didn't come despite his urging.

Painting the Clouds With Sunshine[]

Hutch and his gang of thieves indebted to the supervillain Big Man perform a series of heists. In a drunken stupor, Chloe accidentally stops one of their robberies. When Jack leaves the van, he attacks Chloe, stating that she's "Utopian's kid". Jacinda gets in on the action to try to stop her. Gabby then punches her but again, there's little effect, and Chloe uppercuts her into the sky. Eventually she takes their loot.

Later, Hutch is forced to tell Big Man's henchmen that Chloe Sampson hurt them and took whatever was inside the case.

All the Devils Are Here[]

Chloe is out enjoying a rave late into the night. A man named Nick talks to her on the dance floor, and appears to know who she is. Janna Croft then runs up to her and hugs Chloe. The other girl then proceed to invite Chloe to her table, but Chloe clearly does not want to be involved. After being told there’s bottle service, Chloe and Nick join the table anyway. Nick subsequently tells Chloe that they should drink all of Janna's alcohol and then leave without chipping in. As it turns out, Janna and the group are superheroes and Chloe grew up with. Chloe takes some drugs, but Janna warns them all, reminding them that they need to keep a clear head if Blackstar turns up. Tensions rise, and Chloe and Sierra end up facing off with each other. As Sierra uses her powers on Chloe, Nick freezes time, and reveals himself to be a wannabe superhero that calls himself "Nick of Time".

Later, Nick and Chloe return to Chloe's apartment. She asks Nick if she should have gone to the funeral. She wonders if she should have "given a shit". Nick tells her that this is her life, and she should do what feels right, not what other people think she should be doing. Those words evidently resonate with Chloe because the pair proceed to have sex.

The next morning, Chloe is panicking because she's late for her latest photoshoot. Nick then reveals he is applying for the Union of Justice, which irks Chloe. He's hoping that she puts in a good word for him. Chloe tells him the first thing her father will ask is, "can you take a punch?", then she punches Nick through the wall. Chloe heads to the photoshoot and sniffs coke in between different takes to keep going. Eventually, they ask her to imitate a superhero pose her father did in his early years. An angry Chloe picks up the car and throws it.

Unfortunately, this action has consequences, and Chloe is dropped from her modeling agency and down on her luck, she picks up the bag from the briefcase. Chloe learns that her actions in the photoshoot have lost her all the endorsements. In the process of arguing with her agent, she bumps into Hutch and his friends when they accidentally crash into her. She then takes the bag from the briefcase that they had stolen. Chloe heads home and takes some of the powder that looks like tiny crystals from the bag and snorts it. Suddenly, she gasps and laughs hysterically. She rings her friend Kaitlyn and tells her to get over to her apartment, claiming she’s scored good shit.

Chloe organizes a party, but her landlord eventually comes over and tells her he is serving her an eviction notice and tries to kick her and her friends out. However, Kaitlyn repairs the hole in the wall with her powers that the landlord was complaining about. Chloe asks him to get out of her apartment and threatens him with her own power.

Chloe later ends up throwing up, so Janna helps her. Chloe remarks that Brandon wants to be his father. She tells Janna that she doesn't have friends because she's an asshole. Janna tells her that she is better than this, but Chloe disagrees. Late in the night and sobbing, Chloe contemplates ringing her mother before smashing up her phone. She gets out more of the drugs and snorts it. Eventually, she breathes raggedly, and her nose bleeds before smashing into the glass coffee table. She begins choking on her own vomit. Hutch shows up and sees the bag is almost empty.

What's the Use?[]

Sheldon admits to his therapist that he thinks he's at odds with the whole world. He cites that his marriage with Grace is strained, Chloe is out of control and Brandon killed someone (to which 78% of the country agrees with it).

After Chloe's overdose, she wakes up in the hospital, where Hutch tells her that she took something that doesn't belong to her. Chloe asks what he's going to do about it. Somehow the two young adults end up having sex.

Later, Hutch reveals that her father visited him and that he's looking for his own father, George Hutchence. Hutch then reveals that Sheldon doesn't scare him. Chloe enjoys those words and they hook up again.

Omnes Pro Uno[]

Brandon and Chloe grieve over Janna, and they are both understandably upset. Brandon wonders if it is his fault, but Chloe states that somebody dies regardless of who does the right or wrong thing. After debating on who may or may be the next Utopian, Brandon asks Chloe to be around more, and she says she will think about it.

How It All Ends[]

Meanwhile, Hutch is on a heist plan, but his friends do not want to help him this because he has been having sex with Chloe. They see this as a betrayal, and so Hutch teleports to China.

In China, Hutch enters a room but suddenly realizes there is little oxygen inside it. He tries to leave using his device, but as he cannot speak properly, it doesn't work. Guards enter the room and knock him senseless. Luckily, Chloe arrives to save the day and Hutch gets what he came for in one of the safety deposit boxes.

When Hutch and Chloe return from China, he reveals to her that he now has a superweapon that could punch a hole through the strongest being on the planet. Chloe asks if he's going to use it against her father. Hutch reveals that he is actually going to use it to find his father.
